This is my third year working with the Manhattan Short Film Festival as the Director of Internet Operations. During my first year, we had 222 screenings across 3 continents. Now, we have 450 (and counting) screenings spanning across 5 continents. (Wow, right?)
In this time I’ve met some really amazing filmmakers and had the chance to watch some truly fantastic and inspiring short films. The last two years, films that have won at our festival have gone on to garner Oscar nominations for Best Short Film. (2006 – I Met the Walrus, and in 2007 New Boy)
After all of the stress and pressure, everything comes together during one week in September. Over 100,000 people are expected to attend world wide and cast their vote for Best Film.
One World – One Week – One Festival
This week I find myself reunited with some old friends, the very first band web site I ever designed, for a group called vs the earth, have hired my company to take over their online presence. This includes their official site, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and all online activity. We’ve discussed making a music video as well, which would be a fitting way to kick things off.
